Kudos to our new County Councilman Todd Crandall and his Assistant Ron Metzger for their quick action in clearing the ice from the intersection of Howard Ave and Old Bay Road today for a second time this winter. The problem stems from the unattended water leak on Old Bay Road that has been reported to Baltimore City Department of Public Works many times since before Thanksgiving. A few weeks ago, during our first snow fall, the running water accumulated in the intersection when the temperature plummeted, making Old Bay Road a danger and almost impassable. It happened again last night as the temperature plummeted to 18 degrees. Mr. Crandall’s office contacted the Baltimore City Department of Public Works the first time this happened and they contacted them again today. I was informed there would be a City crew attending the leak on the 3 to 11 shift tonight, weather permitting. I won’t hold my breath, as it has already snowed tonight. Please recognized their willingness to be a helpful asset to our community.
