Baltimore County 7th District School Board Member Mr. Rod McMillion

Electing Mr. Rod McMillion to the Baltimore County School pays off for the residents of the  7th District of Baltimore County once again.

School Board Member Rod McMillion noticed a “disclaimer,” on the Baltimore County Public School (BCPS) page stating the hotly opposed  Sparrows Point County Estates development resident children will attend Grange Elementary, General John Stricker Middle and Patapsco High School.

Mr. McMillion requested from BCPS clarification on the “disclaimer,”  and  Baltimore County Public School revealed  it was falsely reporting to the taxpaying public.

Mr. McMillion received a letter dated August 27, 2019 from  BCPS  stating the children of Sparrows Point County Estates “are within the boundaries,” of  the already overcrowded schools of Edgemere Elementary, Sparrows Point Middle and Sparrows Point High School.

One can only speculate if the BCPS “error,” with the attending “disclaimer,” was intentional concealment of the truth or not?

The school overcrowding was debated earlier July 25, 2018 in the below video.

Sparrows Point Country Estates architect is  Baltimore County Landmark Preservation Commissioner  David Thaler’s firm  DS Thaler & Asso.

Commissioner Thaler suppressed the will of the people by leading the opposition to defeat  the March 2018  tri-nomination by Fort Howard Community Association, the Baltimore County Historic Trust and fellow 7th District Baltimore County Landmark Commissioner, the late Ms. Rose Benton,  to list and preserve the VA property historic buildings undergoing demolition by neglect at the former Fort Howard VA Hospital in Fort Howard, Maryland. So much for “councilman courtesy.”

Baltimore County Office of Law testimony opposing the VA property landmark nomination contradicts  Federal Judge Nancy Firestone’s ruling in FORT HOWARD SENIOR HOUSING ASSOCIATES, LLC, v. UNITED STATES.  Litigation may be forthcoming in Baltimore County Circuit or United Stated Federal Court to settle this matter.

Mr. Thaler is listed on the Baltimore County Landmark Preservation Commission Webpage as representing the interests of Home Builders Industry not the residents of Fort Howard, Maryland.

Mr. Thaler’s connection and interest to development at Fort Howard are unknown.

Do not support more induced school overcrowding development at the  Sparrows Point County Estates.

Please contact  Mr. Todd Crandell at 410-887-3383 or email him at [email protected].

Mr. Crandell  is the man who approved the the zoning variance for the Sparrows Point County Estates development.

And unlike the supporters North Point Community Council, the North Point Civic Association, and the Wells-McComas Association who are all reported receiving monetary benefits from the developer Craftmen Development for “their,” support of the school overcrowding development,  Fort Howard Community Association OPPOSES the Sparrow Point Country Estates development until the Sparrows Point school overcrowding issues are resolved.

The latest public hearing on the Sparrows Point County Estates development is scheduled this  September 13, 2019. All are invited to attend.

Mr. McMillion can be emailed at [email protected] or 443-809-4126
