ATTENTION: HART MILLER ISLAND DREDGE PLACEMENT PUBLIC INPUT MEETING SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 FROM 6:30 TO 8:00 P.M. AT KENWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
Mandated by Bill 343 2024, the general public is invited to attend the second public meeting to give comment, concern, and ask questions pertaining to their vision of southeast Baltimore County in the development of a multimillion dollar Community Benefit Agreement between Terminal Investment Limited/Trade Point Atlantic and Baltimore County regarding dredge placement of 3-4 million cubic yards of dregde material from the Ore Pier inlet on the south side of the Sparrows Point peninsula facing the Pataspco River, as part of the development of Sparrows Point Container Terminal, a new 168 acre container marine terminal.
The Ore Inlet dredge material proposal is placement at the north cell of the Hart Miller Island State Park with a legally binding Community Benefit Agreement including environmental, community, transportation, and infrastructure benefits to the surrounding vacinity communities of the undertaking in exchange for public/community support for the dredge placement at Hart Miller Islands north cell.
Currently going through the Federal permitting process, the project is a joint venture between between Tradepoint Atlantic and Terminal Investment Limited (TiL), which manages over 70 terminals worldwide and is owned by powerful players Mediterranean Shipping Company, Global Infrastructure Partners (the largest infrastructure fund in the United States) and GIC (one of the two Singaporean sovereign funds).
Hosting the meeting are Baltimore County Economic Development and the Hart Miller Island Oversight Committee from 6:30 to 8:00 at Kenwood High School located at 501 Stemmers Run Rd, Baltimore, MD 21221.
