Thursday November 19, 2015 from 7-8:30 pm at the Odd Fellows Hall, 9401 North Point Rd, Fort Howard, MD 21052 FHCA will hold its last general meeting for 2015 with Chesapeake Bay Foundation Chief Scientist Douglas Myers sharing his perspective of the current status of the Chesapeake Bay and projection of the future, including the waters of Old Road Bay, Back River, Patapsco River, and Bear Creek.
FHCA very much thanks both Mr. Aaron Tomarchio of Sparrows Point Terminal and Mr. Francis Taylor of the Maryland Port Administration Dredge Material Management Program Executive Committee attending our last meeting in September.
Mr. Tomarchio’s briefing included the on and off shore industrial pollution remediation progress at the Sparrows Point peninsula, demolition progress, and invited all to the October 15, 2015 open house.
Mr. Taylor announced the opening of the Hart-Miller Island south cell this 2016 summer, the remediation progress of north cell’s 500 million gallons of tainted water, and future MPA DMMP plans.
Mr. Myer’s address will include questions or concerns from attendees.
Recently appointed Rec & Parks Supervisor Mr. Micheal Jankiewicz will be present to answer questions or concerns of the Fort Howard Park and the Fort Howard Veterans Park.
The balance of meeting time will be open for comment and discussion on other community topics with fresh coffee.
FHCA’s next meeting will be Spring 2016.
