Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks, Chief of Recreation Services, Mr. Bobby Smith advised the the Fort Howard Community Association that the Fort Howard Veterans Park Field renovations are completed depicted in the above slideshow.

As part of the Fort Howard Veterans Park Memorial Day Commemoration 2019 Agenda, the Fort Howard Community Association with event sponsor Independent Order Odd Fellows Lodge #4, will dedicate the newly renovated field to the memory of the Veterans of World War II.

Additionally, in 2019 the Fort Howard Community Association has committed to submitting to the Baltimore County Landmark Commission application for landmarking the Fort Howard Veterans Park beach as a significant historical and cultural feature of the Fort Howard Veterans Park.

The park beach is the last publicly accessible beach to visitors where the British expeditionary forces landed during the September 14, 1814 in the invasion of the  War of  1812 Battle of Baltimore.

An interpretive sign  will be erected for visitors near the beach (photographed in the following slideshow).

After the 2019  Memorial Day Commemoration and Field  Dedication, those attending the yearly event are invited to join the Odd Fellows at the hall, 9401 North Point Rd, Fort Howard, Maryland 21052, a few blocks south for an open house light lunch and drinks, complements of the Lodge #4 members.
