Congratulation to Fort Howard resident Dr. Haffer for being tapped by Councilman Todd Crandell to take on the responsibilities of representing the 7th District on the Baltimore County Planning Board and likewise Dr. Haffer’s civic mindedness taking the appointment expiring 2018, noting board members are unpaid volunteers.
Samuel C. “Chris” Haffer is Director, Data and Policy Analytics Group in the CMS Office of Minority Health. From 2011 until 2013 Haffer was Program Director and Senior Technical Advisor in the CMS Office of Information Products & Data Analytics where he led the Medicare Claims Data Public Use File Program – creating free claims-based public use files, and the Medicare Data Sharing Program which allows performance measurement organizations access to Medicare claims data for developing report cards for health care providers. From 1997 – 2011 Haffer served as Director of the National Medicare Health Outcomes Survey Program.
Chris is a Baltimore native and attended Archbishop Curley High School, Loyola College (BA, Sociology), and UMBC (MPS, Ph.D., Public Policy) where he also served as adjunct associate professor of public policy. (Courtesy of CMS)
FHCA looks to Dr. Haffer’s intellect and prudence as the community of Fort Howard navigates the CZMP and cannot suggest a more qualified person to the Planning Board addressing the Fort Howard VA Medical Center issues.
Again, congratulations Dr. Haffer.
