THE PURPOSE OF THIS PUBLIC NOTICE IS TO SOLICIT COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE WORK DESCRIBED BELOW AND TO ANNOUNCE THE DATES OF TWO CORPS/MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE SUBJECT APPLICATION. AT THIS TIME, NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT AUTHORIZATIONS WILL BE ISSUED. THE CORPS/MDE PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD:

Please attend tonight’s dredging hearing concerning the last undisturbed Chesapeake oyster shoal, Man O’ War Shoal off the east coast of the Fort Howard shoreline of Baltimore Count, Maryland.
The Fort Howard Community Association and members of the surrounding communities of Denton Avenue and Todd’s Farm notably Mr. Russel Spangler, Maryland Watermen’s AssociationExecutive Board of Director, have publicly advocated NO dredging at the Man o’ War Shoal since 1985.
Additionally, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation also OPPOSES the Man o’ War Shoal dredging.
Councilman Todd Crandell publicly proclaimed his opposition to the Man o’ War Shoal at the December 2015 Essex Middle River Civic Council and is scheduled to voice his official opposition to the dredging tonight in person at the hearing.
